Community Habilitation

Program Description:

The Community Habilitation program is primarily a skills training program designed to assist families who are caring for their disabled loved one at home. The goal of the Community Habilitation program is to enable individuals with autism or pervasive developmental disorder to develop the skills and behaviors necessary to be participating members of their home and community. Upon entering the Community Habilitation program, each participants strengths and needs are assessed and treatment plans are developed to enhance the overall functioning of the individual. Each treatment plan is designed and implemented according to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The times and schedules of the Community Habilitation program are arranged individually for each consumer. All participants in the Community Habilitation program must have a diagnosis of autism or pervasive developmental disorder.
